It comprises one acute hospital in Carshalton and a District General Hospital in Epsom, a dedicated children’s hospital, Elective Orthopaedic Centre and a private patient unit and provides services from a number of support hospitals An exciting opportunity has arisen for a six-month secondment to the post of Divisional Director of Operations for Planned Care. This post covers the directorates of Surgery, Critical Care, Pain, Anaesthetics, Theatres, Endoscopy and Decontamination. The role provides strategic and operational leadership at divisional level as part of division’s Operational Triumvirate structure encompassing the Divisional Medical Director (DMD) and Divisional director of Nursing (DDN). This role offers challenge and complexity in equal measure. As part of this TRI the primary role of the DDO will be to ensure that there is a positive and progressive culture embedded within the division for the successful delivery of excellent patient care. You will also need to ensure that the correct structures and processes are routinely adopted within the daily operations of the services to ensure delivery of clinical, constitutional and regulatory standards within budget.  The postholder must have extensive NHS experience of leading services at a senior level in a complex environment, with a sound acute operational background. You will also need previous planned care experience and a strong understanding of performance and delivery.
