Your role Our M&A Operations Consulting team is looking for a M&A-focused Senior Manager with experience in integration and separation operating model design. You will have a deep operations background and experience in optimising business models to create sustainable operational and commercial value in deal situations. You will act as the bridge between the upfront M&A strategy and executable operational plans pre and post transaction close to deliver business outcomes. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ranging from strategy to technology and including operations, programme leadership, organisational design and change expertise from across Deloitte. Our approach is to work collaboratively with our clients to understand the forces that are driving transactional and transformational change, identify opportunities and develop solutions that are appropriate for the new organisation as a whole. This, coupled with our industry expertise, enables us to deliver meaningful and contextually relevant recommendations to our clients. Responsibilities • Advise senior clients (e.g. CSOs, COOs and Transformation Directors) on the future design of their combined or separated business to meet strategic and operational objectives, acting as the key client day-to-day point of contact leading up to and post Day 1 • Be able to demonstrate deep sector-specific knowledge and develop hypotheses about how to create commercial and operational value through changes to their future operating models (e.g. customer, people, process, technology)• Have an understanding of business functions (both front-end and back-end) and be able to articulate how they collectively interact and work together across the business• Work closely with functional teams e.g. Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance and Supply Chain to ensure seamless integration/separation and business transformation in deal situations • Support clients on the impact of Digital on their future combined or separated business, and how they can look to embrace emerging technologies and ways of working to improve customer experience, operational efficiency and team performance • Manage projects from start to finish, effectively managing project risk, hypothesis generation, data analysis, stakeholder and talent management and ensure high quality delivery of outputs• Deliver in a dynamic and time-sensitive programme environment, managing multiple tasks, requirements and stakeholders• Manage diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution • Partnering with the full Deloitte network to deliver our business• Coaching and mentoring junior staff, including talent and performance management and recruitment Your work, your choice At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. Work pattern: This is a permanent contract opportunity. The role can be worked on a full-time basis. Your professional experience • Experience of delivering the integration or separation business design and value creation elements of a M&A transaction, either as an external consultant or in an in-house corporate strategy role • An ability to think innovatively about solving complex business problems, leveraging emerging technologies, data analysis and design-led thinking to shape solutions and drive commercial and operational value • Deep sector-expertise in either Health Care and Life Sciences, Financial Services, Consumer and Industrial Products or Technology, Media and Telecommunications• Experience leading large scale project teams and being responsible for delivering business critical outcomes in a time-pressured environment • Knowledge of service design, customer journey mapping, process definition and process mapping, requirements gathering and prioritisation built through project work• A high level of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and report writing skills, as well as broad consulting skills which should include interviewing, data analysis and facilitation of client workshops• Flexibility and willingness to travel (principally within the UK) Your service line: Consulting Our people and the way we work are the two things that set us apart in the consulting universe.
