You will join our UK Rail department As our new Rail Infrastructure Lead you will be joining a growing team currently comprising 20 engineers split between our Birmingham and London Offices. You will report to the Director of the Rail Infrastructure Department and support the leadership and management of the team. The highly collaborative team is currently engaged in a number of high profile multi-discipline rail projects including Network Rail Design Services Framework, HS2 Phase 1 Area North Enabling Works, HS2 Phase 2b, Network Rail Digital Rail programme and a number of design and build projects through contractor relationships. The team capability comprises the design of bridges, lineside and station infrastructure. The successful candidate will enhance our capability and provide leadership to our lineside and station infrastructure projects. Your key tasks and responsibilities will be: Provide credible technical leadership into lineside and station infrastructure projects. Multidisciplinary by nature, you will have the opportunity to exercise and develop many engineering skills Working in all phases of the project life cycle, from the early stages of feasibility studies to detailed design projects for contractors Working closely with our clients, building a strong network Mentoring junior members of the team and being a role model for their development Acting as delegate for the Director of Rail Infrastructure Identifying and securing opportunities for the wider team in the Rail sector Your starting point for constant growth From the moment you join Ramboll, we will support your personal and professional development so that you grow with the company. For this role, we believe your starting point is: Bachelors/Master’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent Chartered with demonstratable experience in delivery and management of rail infrastructure projects including the ability to manage and coordinate multi-discipline input Experience and up to date knowledge of NR project process and codes Detailed understanding of rail interfaces and their interdependencies Experience working with rail clients including Network Rail and rail contractors is essential Previously held CRE and/or CEM role in relevant discipline is desired, not essential Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include: Being self-motivated and able to build collaborative working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. Willingness to take responsibility and ownership for completing tasks.
