Global Supply Chain Planning Director - Respiratory Brentford, United Kingdom Supply Chain & Logistics 274805 Site Name: UK - London - Brentford Posted Date: Jan 27 2021 In this position you will play a key role in the ongoing transformation and optimisation of GSK’s Respiratory supply chains. You will deliver improvements in end to end supply chain planning, optimise inventory and deliver outstanding service to patients, all with an eye to cost, capital, simplicity and standardisation opportunities. To deliver this, you will plan end to end supply chain for the Respiratory therapy area, within a minimum of a 0-3-year horizon, working through commercial GSK teams and third-party providers as applicable. You’ll make key decisions on the Supply Chain network and capacity plan, working with Supply Chain Planning Managers, supporting the commercial organisation in the delivery of growth and new pipeline introduction. You will ensure business continuity through risk assessments globally and by owning delivery of action plans to resolve and mitigate risks. The Respiratory portfolio is a cornerstone of GSK’s business, delivering key, life saving products to many of our customers. You will be accountable for supporting and enabling this team, and for updating and leading supply chain design, process change and optimisation. This is a highly visible role, offering the opportunity to develop a fantastic internal and external reputation and network, and to witness all stages of the product life cycle, as Respiratory has products at all stages in its portfolio. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Team management and capability building across planning staff, with direct responsibility of Supply Chain Planning Managers and strong functional responsibility of Site Planning managers / Site Supply Planners Developing optimal supply chain plan across network for minimum 0- 3 years horizon, based on recommendation from Supply Chain Planning Managers and in collaboration with Regional Hubs, or 3rd party customers, for both existing and pipeline products Optimising the supply chain plan for delivery of new products within the planned time to market, and cost (including write-off risks) As part of the Global Demand Review process, align volume and value forecast with Finance and understand differences vs budget updates, escalating issues to S&OP. Engage with Strategy team to align Therapy area with LRF Accountable for On Time In Full (OTIF) and inventory management for Respiratory portfolio and initiatives to deliver continuous improvement to deliver service, cost and cash benefits. Understanding key Demand KPIs (Forecast Completeness, Accuracy & Bias for example) and escalate adverse trends. Developing a relevant setting of rules, boundaries, policies and replenishment models to deliver optimal service, cost and end to end inventory for SKU portfolio and monitor its application with the sites. Recommending to Head of Global Supply Chain Planning any escalations regarding strategic stock requirements within inventory and identifying strategic stock impacts / brokering decisions for SKU portfolio. Supporting Head of Global Supply Chain Planning in performing the SCRM process, including recommendation on resolution of Supply/Demand unbalances. Responsible for the implementation of end to end planning system processes, including any data related activity e.g. MGX, APO, relevant ERP process. Managing an effective supply chain performance management process, including resolution of SCIM escalated from Supply Chain Planning Managers (SCIM 2 recommendations). About You: To excel in this role you will need to be driven by delivery – orientated around solutions and results, and with the determination to make these happen. Success will require fantastic communication and network skills, to manage a large existing network and to build one where it does not already exist. You’ll need to be able to confidently communicate with and influence a range of internal and external business contacts, managing expectations and balancing their needs and requirements. You will understand commercial drivers, objectives and challenges, as this will be crucial in the identification of suitable solutions, and will have an appreciation for political, economic and financial processes, and how these impact the supply chain, to be enable understanding and preparation of business proposals and implementation plans. As a manager and leader, you must be able to train, coach and mentor, and to inspire exceptional performance, and GSK values, in your team. Required Qualifications and experience:  Degree qualified, or with equivalent industry experience, in an appropriate business or technical area Hands on knowledge of supply chain systems and processes Pharmaceutical or FMCG Experience Substantial experience in supply chain delivery Practical experience in a leadership/management role Formal Supply Chain Qualification such as APICS or an MSc in a Supply Chain related discipline Additional Skills: Qualification in a supply chain related discipline, such as logistics, supply management, demand management, operational management or MBA.
