We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
The responsibilities for this role include: preparing plans to implement the University's Procurement Strategy; working with the Director of Purchasing to refine the strategy as appropriate; ensuring the team continuously improves its performance in line with best practice (including in respect of sustainability initiatives); acting as an expert of all aspects of procurement and leading on developing the skill set of team members; ensuring that category management plans are stretching but deliverable; leading on complex contract negotiations and dispute resolution scenarios with strategic suppliers; quality assuring work of team members and coaching to improve practices; and ensuring performance of the team can be effectively measured and reported.
To be considered at shortlisting you should have: significant senior level experience in the execution of category management and supplier relationship management programmes which deliver value for money outcomes; substantial experience in tendering and negotiating high value/complex commercial arrangements; substantial experience in the negotiation and drafting of terms and conditions; proven management, leadership, and teamwork skills; strong oral, written and electronic communication skills; experience of designing, documenting and maintaining purchasing guidance, processes, templates and training.; and experience of defining purchasing policy (including sustainable purchasing) and implementing policy through process/training etc.
