About the role The National Grid Threat Intelligence Team is part of the Cyber Security Operations Team within Security and is responsible for providing indications and warning of suspected cyber-attacks directed against National Grid. The Threat Intelligence Analyst will provide technical analysis to understand, quantify, and predict the actions of cyber threat actors to National Grid. The role will perform technical tasks designed to collect, process, analyse, and report on cyber threats in order to develop an understanding of the threat actors who target the organization and to gain insight on their capability and intent. This data will be shared to internal stakeholders so that they can prioritise and appropriately assign further investigative resources. Additionally, the analyst is expected to share findings with other external National Grid stakeholder communities.The Threat Intelligence Analyst will conduct daily technical threat analysis, collaborate with core threat and security teams, and produce actionable intelligence in the form of alerts, reports, and briefings. About you The position requires a talented, technical cyber threat intelligence subject matter expert, and disciplined thinker who can work across organisational boundaries in a demanding environment to analyse cyber threats that could impact the National Grid infrastructure and services of customers.You will have demonstrable capability to produce intelligence products at Strategic, Operational and Tactical levels, and conducting detailed technical analytics supported by industry accepted threat intelligence analytical frameworks, as well as good organisational skills, time management, attention to detail and accuracy over multiple simultaneous activities. You’ll provide recommendations in a consumable format to senior management on cyber intelligence analysis and threat trends and support various stakeholder communities with enriched intelligence analysis and reporting, and have knowledge working in a threat intelligence operation consisting of collection, analysis and production of cyber threat intelligence, including both automated intelligence feeds and human-consumable intelligence, with good knowledge and understanding of the systems and processes that enable this.You will ideally hold Security Qualifications such as SANs SEC487: Open-Source Intelligence Gathering and Analysis, FOR578: Cyber Threat Intelligence, GCIA, GCIH, GCDA, GPEN, or similar training and certification.Due to the sensitive nature of this role, if your application is successful, you may be required to undergo National Security Vetting in addition to the standard background checks National Grid carry out. If these additional security checks are required, you may need to evidence that you have resided in the UK for the last 3 years.
