Mathematical Modelling Physicist – Algorithm Development

  • Salary Type: Per Annum
  • Salary: £38,389

If you have a real passion for physics and using it to model physical systems I suggest reading this advert.  You will be working on security sensitive projects helping an established team of R&D scientists and engineers develop lifesaving and protecting technologies.

Due to the complex nature of the projects they work on they are keen to meet a physicist who has a real passion for mathematical modelling or algorithm development.  In the past people who have succeeded in this type of role normally have a hobby or interest on their CV showing enjoyment in puzzles and complex thinking.

As you will be working on security sensitive projects you will need to hold security clearance or have the ability to obtain security clearance.

Apart from having a strong Mathematical modelling or algorithm development knowledge you will work on electromagnetics, electronics, optics and material sciences projects.  It is not expected that you would have knowledge of all of these but knowledge of one or more would be useful.

While working on mathematical modelling or algorithm development you will be most likely using Matlab, Comsol, C or Java tools and software.  So knowledge of at least of these will be important.

We are actually looking for a few people so are open to candidates who have recently graduated through to senior physicists with years of experience.

If successful in this role you will work within a truly unique environment where you will collaborate with industry experts allowing you to develop areas you are not too strong in while also helping others develop in your stronger fields.

Apart from working on the most riveting projects, skills development and career development you will be rewarded with an excellent salary, benefits package and relocation allowance (when needed).
