Information Technology Lead for North Thames Genomic Laboratory Hub

Job Category: IT / Computing / Software Job Location: Central London, Central London, UK We are looking to recruit a talented ICT professional to lead and manage the ICT of the Genomic Medicine Service. NHS England has reconfigured genomic services to consolidate laboratories into seven Genomic Laboratory Hubs (GLH). The North Thames GLH is a partnership led by Great Ormond Street NHS Foundation Trust with partners including Barts Health, Imperial College Hospital and its partner laboratory North West London Pathology, the Royal Marsden Hospital, UCLH NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Free Hospital with its partner laboratory Health Services Laboratory, and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, with links into the Assistant Director of ICT Development and the GLH Leadership, the ICT Lead will work with GOSH and North Thames GLH to develop strategy and lead the implementation of systems required to deliver a first-class genomics service across our geography and beyond. You will be required to work closely with the host (GOSH), partner ICT departments, other GLHs, NHS England and research institutions. This is a key role responsible for developing and delivering the ICT strategy to support the consolidation of cancer and rare disease testing services (across the 7 Partner Trusts and 23 other acute and mental health Trusts in our geography), the ability for the GLH to deliver a national service for some testing and the need for us to monitor outcomes so as to continuously improve our genomic service. We are seeking an individual with significant and proven experience in ICT project and programme management in a comparable context. You will have a strong ability to think strategically about the short, medium- and long-term needs of the GLH. You will possess the ability to understand and translate how technology will enable the unique needs of GLH to deliver genomics across our population and beyond for the benefit of patients. You will be able to communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders, driving efficiencies, exploiting technological developments and getting best value.
