Senior Biomedical Scientist – Routine Haematology (Band 7)Department of HaematologyAn opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and motivated HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist. Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest children’s hospitals in Western Europe. As a centre of excellence, the trust treats more than 200,000 children a year from the North West, North Wales, Shropshire and the Isle of Man.The Haematology department has UKAS ISO 15189 accreditation and is accredited for training with the IBMS.The department provides a full diagnostic paediatric Haematology and Blood Transfusion service.We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic to join a dedicated team providing a high quality service.The department is well equipped with Sysmex XN2000, Sysmex CS2400, Grifols Erytra, Beckman Coulter Flow Cytometer and Meditech computer system.The post holder will preferably have an extensive practical and theoretical knowledge of routine haematology and blood group serology.The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the Routine Haematology Laboratory and will work closely with the Haematology Manager and other Senior Biomedical Scientists to provide the Haematology & Blood Transfusion service for the Trust.For further information please contact Sarah Baker, Haematology Laboratory Manager on 0151 252 5490.Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is committed to achieving equal opportunities in employment.
