Procurement Administrator

Description

Day-to-day procurement and customer account management activities. you should be a proactive member of the team, working efficiently and professionally to satisfy customer requirements. Build strong commercial relationships with customers and suppliers and provide the highest level of service to all customers. Responsibilities: Assist the team with day to day workload. This includes liaising with both customers and suppliers to deliver the best possible customer service. Manage quotation requests from customers, ensuring their requirements are correctly interpreted, and working with our suppliers to obtain the right solution and terms for the requirement. Process purchase orders from customers in line with any quotation provided or agreed contract pricing, ensuring best price and terms are achieved allowing for delivery lead time, shipping cost to us and to the client. Proactively monitor delivery of goods ordered from suppliers, ensuring any part/short deliveries are followed up resolved in a timely manner. Ensure all transactions are accurately processed on the company’s IT system. Keep customers informed of progress with their quotation requests and orders. Proactively follow up quotations to customers to maximise sales. Identify potential new sales leads from existing and new customers. Participate in sales/customer meetings when requested. Undertake internal/external training relevant to the role. Manage your workload and responsibilities to ensure optimal use of your time. Qualifications for the position Skills and experience: Experience in a busy results oriented customer focussed team environment with good experience of either sales/account management, or experience in sourcing and procurement, or (ideally) both. Excellent communication and relationship building ability both with colleagues and customers/suppliers. Proactive and flexible attitude and strong team player. Must have a desire to succeed and win business combined with high personal standards of customer service. Personal attributes: Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) Confident telephone manner Attention to detail Problem Solving Commercial and marine industry awareness Motivation & initiative Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team IT literate with experience of Outlook, Word and Excel and the ability to learn new systems. 25 days’ holiday which increases with service, plus all public holidays.
