Are you a collaborative, inspirational leader able to cultivate a high performance culture? Are you an expert in the built environment and passionate about delivering excellent estates and facilities services in modern fit for purpose healthcare premises, in support of our patients and our front line healthcare teams?
Are you ready for the opportunity to lead one of the largest Estates in the NHS and drive the operational and strategic direction of services and building performance?
Do you have the experience and skill set to be a major player in delivery of “Tomorrow’s NUH” our £1bn plus transformation programme over the next 5 to 10 years?
If you answer yes to these questions, we are excited to hear from you.
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational leader with exceptional professional, negotiation and communication skills. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude and a proven track record of credibility with key stakeholders internally and externally. You will be a suitably qualified and experienced individual with the skillset to provide a full deputising role to the Director of Estates and Facilities (DoEF). You will lead and take forward our estate and estate services and be instrumental in supporting the DoEF with the Trusts transformational plans and capital, property, risk, statutory compliance, the Tomorrow’s NUH programme, business and commercial services and fire risk management.
This position strengthens our current strategic leadership capacity and will provide careful oversight of the development of workforce (including staff engagement), culture, performance management, risk management, investment and capital strategies to safely manage transition to a future state.
You will need to have a breadth and depth of Estates and Facilities Management experience at a Deputy Director or Senior level. You will have the ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and also have the credibility and capability to work collaboratively with clinical staff as the post will also be closely aligned to the Clinical Divisions and a cohort of Divisional General Managers, focused upon business continuity and the patient experience.
The condition of the NUH Estate and particularly primary infrastructure and distribution systems and building fabric will need careful stewardship until the Tomorrow’s NUH programme delivers the investment necessary by way of a series of major business cases for major refurbishment and new build. NUH is part of the Health Infrastructure Programme (HIP2) and already preparing a Programme Case for our future state.
You will have excellent governance and risk based methodologies for interim urgent investment in your toolkit. You will define necessary engineering strategies for the current and future states and be a professional advisor for engineering and statutory compliance into the DoEF and Tomorrow’s NUH programme and all business case estate annexes. Aligned to estate specific statutory compliance is the need to ensure fire safety compliance and work with the fire safety team to develop safe fire systems across the Trust.
Interviews and assessment centre will take place week commencing 20 th July 2020.
