The Role
We have recently had a number of promotion and development opportunities for our staff. Therefore opportunities have arisen to recruit highly motivated and enthusiastic Band 5 Theatre Practitioners in all areas, Scrub, Recovery and Anaesthetics within our Theatre department.
The posts have an unsocial and on call commitment and so candidates will need to demonstrate a flexible approach to the role.

Appropriate induction/training/preceptorship will be given to the individual successful candidates
Here at the George Eliot, the theatre department covers a wide range of specialties including Orthopaedics, Urology, General surgery, Gynaecology, Ophthalmic, Plastics and Max/Fax plus a limited Paediatric service. The Emergency theatre is staffed 24/7 and covers Emergency and Trauma Orthopaedics. Anaesthetic Practitioners cover also includes Obstetrics, Resus and being part of the Cardiac Arrest team. This is an exciting place to work with a great multidisciplinary work ethic.
There are is a dedicated Training and Development team within the theatre suite as well as a Learning and Development Department trust wide with excellent learning facilities for all grades of staff
We at the George Eliot, want to develop our Theatre Practitioners to their full potential.The hospital also share close links with Coventry & Leicester University, and has regular placements of both student ODP’s and Nurses. Assessor updates and visits from an academic in practice assure the progress of both student and assessors.
