Public Health Project Manager

Full Time / Fixed Term 2 years 

Sefton Council is seeking to recruit a Project Manager to assist the Public Health Response Team in providing project management support for the local response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is an exciting role for an energetic and well organised individual to manage a varied portfolio of specific projects which support the Covid 19 pandemic response. They will in a fast-paced role, across organisational teams to ensure projects and plans are developed and delivered within agreed timelines and in an efficient manner.

They will work collaboratively across COVID 19 stakeholder groups to ensure that strategies, policies and activities are closely aligned and working to a common goal. They will define the scope, work plan and resourcing for specific projects in collaboration with the Response Team and prepare detailed work schedules in association with relevant stakeholders and partners, ensuring work plan activities are achieved and on target.

An ability to develop and maintain key performance indicators and quality assurance measures for project evaluation will be required as well as excellent skills in preparing reports, presentations, briefing papers, communication documents etc for the Outbreak Management Board and wider local and regional Boards and external audiences.

Skills in project implementation, liaison with internal and external partners and close working with communications, engagement and consultation officers are essential. The post holder will also provide direction and support to the Sefton Covid 19 Team to ensure that project plans are delivered within agreed timelines and in an efficient manner, as well as providing business support to organise key meetings and boards, in line with overarching governance and committee management arrangements.

Effective and systematic record keeping skills are essential, accurate recording of key decisions at meetings and boards, and the development and use of action trackers and other project management tools will be key requirements of this role.
