We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our multi-disciplinary Public Health Division within the Covid-19 Test and Trace team.  This is a great opportunity for a skilled individual to join Public Health within the largest Local Authority in the country, and lead work that contributes to Birmingham being a great city that enables people to live healthy and active lives.

The Public Health Division is engaged in a dynamic and diverse range of innovative work at a local, regional, national and international level.

This temporary position will be within the Test and Trace team working on governance through the next 6 to 12 months of the Covid-19 outbreak. The team leads on intelligence, including data analysis and report collation, and governance, supporting the local outbreak engagement board and the three setting-specific outbreak response cells. The team is key in delivering the local outbreak response plan and ensuring we are able to interpret the data from Public Health England and the national test and trace service alongside local intelligence at pace to avoid escalation of local outbreaks. This is an ideal opportunity for somebody who has: • experience of supporting performance and governance arrangements; • experience of corporate governance; • an understanding of the political processes in local authorities and wider understanding of equivalent processes in local system partners such as clinical commissioning groups; • experience of supporting the statutory functions and Boards of a Local Authority; • demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Public Health priorities and relevant policy environment.
