Due to successfully securing a new £2 billion project for the MoD, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Manager for our client based in Stockport who play a major part in the Manufacturing/Engineering Industry. Applicants must be flexible to work away in Europe from time to time to visit customers and partnered manufacturing facilities.
Job Purpose :- The successful Production Manager will be responsible for managing the production operations, including management of the production team. You will also ensure that safety and production standards are maintained and proactively addressed and the project is met within timescale, quality and cost demands..
As the Production Manager, your duties will be :-
- To deliver manufactured vehicles on time, to cost and quality compliant with project demands. - To compile production plans to maximise labour usages ad optimise materials stockholdings in line with the delivery requirements and the Master Schedule. - Collate and analyse data, generation of production reports. - To manage the introduction of new products/components into production. - Manage the recruitment, employee relations, training and control of all direct and indirect staff, supervisory staff an apprentices. - Maintain Quality System and Departmental Procedures relating to production to ensure that procedures are complied with. - Initiate and manage improvement activities and continuous improvement projects.
The successful Production Manager will have the following skills :-
- Must hold a Degree/HND within a Manufacturing or Engineering discipline. - Must have a minimum of 3 years working experience in Manufacturing/Production Management in Aerospace, Automotive of similar industry. - Vehicle Fabrication/Structural Steel/Armour Plate Welding experience would be advantageous. - Excellent understanding of Production Planning and Scheduling and New Production Introduction. - Good understanding of technical & planning documents. - Highly proficient with MRP systems and SAP. - High organisational and communication skills are required.
