This is a nationwide position, requiring the potential for frequent travel and overnight stays. A quick look at the role. The Commercial Manager - Fleet, is accountable for identifying and driving new business in line with the divisional and business plan. Working closely with the Group Fleet Director, Operational Fleet Management and Area Directors to identify, target and cultivate high quality pipelines of key customer prospects, enabling us to convert on target levels of revenue at budgeted profitability. The position will explore the potential market for additional services across the group, identifying any new business tendering opportunities through detailed analysis to determine the commerciality, viability, chances of success and fit within the capability of the Group. Exploring, identifying and managing new business tendering opportunities in order to secure and grow 3rd party servicing into existing internal workshops Proactively selling profitable and sustainable new business to achieve and exceed quarterly/ and annual new business targets Developing the strategic growth plans via the introduction of all services offered by Group Fleet and to work in collaboration with other areas of Biffa Generating, managing and maintaining a pipeline ensuring all sales opportunities are captured, as well as to produce and present monthly and quarterly personal performance Managing the tendering process together with the Bid Manager and support the process from researching to completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PPQ) and other tendering documentation and stages through to securing the deal when it is handed off to the operational team for mobilisation. Operating with a high level of autonomy, although working towards and in line with the long-term business plan and budgeting available for new projects and avenues is required. Analysing and forecasting the success of potential new business services and tenders and requires the post-holder to be commercially focused. A chance to join a forward-thinking, industry leader that openly welcomes self-driven individuals who are unafraid to question convention Requirements Here's what we require: Experience of developing, managing and implementing new business services Existing network of business contacts Strong presentation, selling, negotiating and influential skills Articulate, confident and assertive Analytical and able to quickly assess issues and recommend and/or implement solutions Ability to work in partnership with internal departments, (potential) customers and other organisations Robust and resilient, able to absorb pressure and respond positively Experience of building and maintaining customer relationships Solid pragmatic approach to delivering to tight deadlines and targets Ability to plan, organise and prioritise Ability to deal with conflict and negotiate / manage the appropriate outcome Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and on own initiative The ability to communicate with conviction, plan with precision and, most importantly, play well with others.
