The role will be based at our state-of-the-art manufacturing, distribution and office building based in West Hull.
This role will lead on the setting up of our satellite operations in China and India, ideally you would need experience in logistics and distribution, particularly in overseas locations.
You would be joining the company at a very exciting time in the development of the company, with ambitious plans for growth and a number of upcoming projects.

Job Description
Our client are looking to expand its operation by mirroring our complete knock-down [CKD] engine and alternator business in China and India, taking advantage of favourable pricing models from our suppliers to drive volume in those regions.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised and self-motivated, with a keen eye for detail and a track record of implementing processes.
Duties include;
* Working with the sales team to establish and service demand in China and India.
* Set up and manage a third party overseas operations, remotely.
* Make strategic decisions in order to meet agreed targets for growth.
* Lead and get the best from remote teams.
* Occasional travel to China and India.
* Working closely with the relevant sales and purchasing team members to identify and take advantage of the opportunities available in these regions.
* Work in collaboration with the UK purchasing and forecasting coordinator to set-up mirrored procurement and forecasting procedures for the overseas satellite operations.
* Working with the Marketing Analyst to understand the regions you’ll be working with.
* Drive consistently high standards and install the business culture within third party warehousing teams.
Person specification:
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification[s] in business, logistics, global shipping or other related field.
* Proficient with computer programs, such as MS Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present progress in an easy-to-understand manner.
* Commercially astute with a keen eye for figures.
* Strong work ethic and time-management skills.
* Full driving licence and means of transport.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of the generator manufacturing industry.
* The ability to communicate in Indian and Chinese languages would be an advantage.
* Working knowledge of shipping, logistics, import and export in India and China
