We have an exciting opportunity within our Engineering Department at Ilford Depot for A Materials & Logistics Manager
The Role
We are actively seeking an Materials & Logistics Manager to manage all matters relating to obsolescence, material planning and material supply to ensure constant flow of adequate repairable and consumable parts to support all depot activities
As a direct report to the Depot Fleet Manager you will need to control all procurement, materials and inventory for the fleet south team and provide leadership and direction in line with the company’s vision and values.
As an integral part of this position, key duties will encompass fostering a skilled, proficient, and driven workforce, upholding quality and environmental management systems within the materials department in accordance with ISO standards, and assuming responsibility for implementing a safe business operation to lessen potential hazards to team members, guests, and contractors by detecting and managing risks pursuant to the approved engineer risk register process.
Additionally, your responsibilities will include developing effective tactics to enhance safety, performance, and quality, while minimizing costs by creating budgets that align with our company's yearly objectives
Additionally, you will be tasked with ensuring that scheduled inspections and audits are carried out in accordance with Greater Anglia's protocols, while also keeping thorough and satisfactory records.
What we are looking for
The desired candidate should have expertise in the rail industry and a track record of effectively leading within a complex organization
It is important for the ideal candidate to possess a strong grasp of business and financial management techniques, and to understand how to enhance service quality through cultural change and organizational development, all while meeting ambitious cost and performance objectives.
This individual should be an adept communicator, capable of collaborating with others and proficient in programs like Microsoft Suite and other pertinent database systems
Additionally, a valid forklift license is mandatory for this position.
