We are a first-class specialist team providing regulatory and competition law advice and support, inputting into key business decisions and strategies across Sky’s broad range of fast-moving businesses. This role offers the opportunity for a wide variety of high quality work of a standard rarely found outside private practice What you’ll do: Drafting and communicating advice to the business on the application of general competition law, including merger control, and on many aspects of regulation affecting Sky, including access to Sky’s satellite platform, fixed and mobile telephony and broadband services, broadcast channels and VOD services Preparing submissions and responses to consultations on matters of strategic importance to Sky Liaising with regulators such as Ofcom, the Competition and Markets Authority and European Commission in respect of competition law, merger control and regulatory matters Building strong relationships with key stakeholders across Sky Assisting with competition and regulatory litigation and investigations Assisting with regulatory clearance of transactions Carrying out legal research Preparing and providing training for the business and the wider legal team on various aspects of competition law and regulation affecting Sky. What you’ll bring: 1-4 years’ experience in advising on competition law in an established law firm, in-house legal team or regulator Strong verbal and drafting skills An appetite for learning and expanding your skills across a broad range of issues An enthusiasm for Sky’s business, good commercial awareness and a keen interest in and understanding of new technology Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others in the team and the wider business to deliver Sky’s objectives The ability to progress matters alone, whilst knowing when to consult or seek guidance Relevant sector experience is desirable, as well as experience in advising on fixed and mobile telecoms regulation, although neither are essential.
