Details of the Role and how it fits into the team

As AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment Officer you will manage Deutsche Bank’s non-financial crime risks and help drive the establishment and maintenance of a robust Risk Assessment Program.

You will create and maintain an inventory of applicable laws, rules, regulations, controls, and other inputs to the risk assessment and oversee the development of and updates to the various AML/Sanctions risk assessment(s); supporting the development of short and long term program initiatives responsive to the risk assessment.

Your key responsibilities

• Serving as subject matter expert in the development of AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment Reports for Deutsche Bank
• Contributing to the development of an AML and Sanctions risk assessment methodology that meets the requirements of the Regulators and aligns to industry best practices
• Performing annual AML and Sanctions  risk assessments and targeted reviews with appropriate Regional Functional Heads and Controls owners to assess and align the Deutsche Bank regional and global control program guidelines, and regulatory requirements and expectations
• Performing data analytics including the analysis of metrics and risk assessment results by Line of business and region
• Evaluating results of the report to develop recommendations and in turn drive improvements in the global risk assessment program and identify action plans with relevant business or regional partners

Your skills and experience

• Previous relevant experience in AML compliance strongly desired with knowledge of German Regulator (BaFin) preferred
• Experience in the financial service industry and in analyzing risk and best practices
• An understanding of the AML functions responsibilities and of risk assessment processes
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work autonomously and work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
