Wythenshawe site became the second laboratory in the country to achieve UKAS accreditation to POCT 22870 in September 2018 and following a resource expansion, we are looking for candidates with knowledge in POCT and an interest in quality to assist in building on our excellence and sustain and expand our accreditation across all MFT sites going forward.

The successful candidates will support the delivery and development of both new and existing POCT services across MFT ensuring that the service is safe, cost effective and complies with current POCT UKAS standards. You will also be the expected to liaise with clinicians, ward managers, ward educators, link nurses and the learning and development teams to manage and monitor the POCT devices and ensure that staff training and competency are maintained in accordance with UKAS and Trust policies.

Posts will be based at the individual sites, however you will be expected to attend the other sites for meetings and service requirements.

Experience in POCT is essential and suitable candidates will require POCT/Biochemistry experience post-registration. Candidates must be in possession of an IBMS specialist portfolio in Clinical Biochemistry or equivalent experience relating to POCT to be appointed at band 6, however candidates working towards their specialist portfolio may be considered for appointment at band 5.

The department has full HCPC training status for pre and post registration IBMS portfolios and full ISO 15189 accreditation and 22870 accreditation for the Wythenshawe site.

So, join us and you’ll discover more ways to make progress. We want talented people from all backgrounds to choose to join our diverse teams, and so we’ll support your work-life balance with flexible and agile working options .
