It sits alongside existing Health Boards and Trusts to be the eleventh member of the NHS Wales family. The GP Programme Director for the Gwent GP Training Scheme will be a key member of the senior GP team within HEIW leading the delivery of a wide range of functions relating to GP Training within the Gwent GP Training scheme. The Gwent GP Training Scheme incorporates the Aneurin Bevan Health Board area. The post holder will be responsible for managing the local GP Training Scheme ensuring training posts provide a balanced and educationally robust experience to the trainees. They will organise and deliver regular focused educational sessions for GP trainees and GP Trainers; providing pastoral and other support to GP trainees; and participating in quality management activities. The GP Programme Director will be a qualified GP, ideally with significant post CCT experience. The postholder should have proven organisational and educational skills and experience.
