Product Owner Manages strategic and business decisions related to product or product group creation, development, positioning and marketing. Develop an expert understanding of the customer and market needs and champion these in the delivery of your products.Understanding and meeting the needs of your users and driving the commercial success of your product through fresh, innovative thinking to guide the Scrum delivery team and collaboration with wider business stakeholders.Job title:Product Owner:As a Product Owner help us build and launch world class products within the Education Software Services (ESS) by contributing towards the vision, product strategy and roadmap for your product/component. You will manage the full product lifecycle from concept, discovery through to creating and executing go to market and on to day to day running and optimisation.You will be adept at planning and prioritising product feature backlog and work with UX teams to detail user stories and develop great user experience.You will be driving the commercial success of your product through fresh, innovative thinking to guide the Scrum delivery team and collaboration with wider business stakeholders. What you’ll be doing: Develop understanding of the needs of your users and the problems they have in meeting those needs based on market and user researchas well as product analytics dataDevelop product positioning and messaging that differentiates your products in the market and segmentWork with the Senior Product Manager and Finance teams to build business cases to justify why ESS should investDefine what success looks like for your product, how we measure success and report on progress towards successWork as part of a product team of designers and engineers to:Address the needs of users and the problems they have meeting these needsDevelop solutions to these problems by creating and testing prototypes and MVP’s to prove or disprove hypothesesWork across the organisation to build go to market plans for new productsLook for new and future trends in the market and technology, to ensure that your product is leading the field What we’re looking for: Experience of product discovery – opportunity discovery, problem discovery and solution discoveryExperience developing commercially valuable products which meet user needs, ideally in a SaaS environmentCompetent at analysing product and financial dataThe ability to influence across an organisation from Board level to engineering, customer success and beyondStrong presentation, organisational and time management skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix environmentWork in an agile environment to a product development process that includes Lean including hypothesis development, prototype testing and usability testingExperience in designing products that analyse and display complex data sets highly desirable.Experience in the Education sector is not essential.
