Role Context The Global Product team’s mission is to work in partnership across internal and external networks to build and maintain an innovative, diverse product and solutions suite. The client is at the heart of all we do as a Product Development and Management team, with products designed with specific consumer outcomes in mind, processes optimally balanced to ensure both timely delivery and risk assessment; and that products are owned and nurtured throughout the product lifecycle. Role Purpose The role of Product Manager (UK) within Aberdeen Standard Investments (ASI) reports to the Head of UK Product Management. The role holder will make a significant contribution to the delivery of the core objectives of the Product Management function, which are to: Provide clear ownership and understanding of ASI’s products in the region (UK & Cayman Islands); Drive the vehicle and domicile strategy for products in the region; Represent Global Product and collate relevant reports for the various Product boards and relevant senior committees; Ensure those products continue to be managed appropriately and fairly, including that regulatory investor documentation is maintained accurately and is up-to-date and understandable, and Lead the process of ongoing review and change for the range of existing products to ensure those products continue to be relevant to investor needs, fit-for-purpose and commercially successful for ASI. Key Responsibilities Owning and managing the delivery of an assigned portfolio of product change initiatives across the UK & Cayman Island product range - comprising a blend of product closures, mergers, changes to product operating models/features, and changes triggered by external developments (e.g. regulatory/industry) Working collaboratively with relevant colleagues across ASI to co-ordinate and drive through the timely and controlled implementation of individual product change initiatives - ensuring that all interested parties throughout ASI are engaged, appropriate approvals are obtained and that clients’ interests are the primary consideration throughout Developing and maintaining a deep understanding how the operating model of each key product across the product range works and continually look for improvement opportunities and for any potential risks Working collaboratively with other Global Product colleagues to develop and operate a disciplined ongoing programme of review and challenge of the commercial health of the product range, seeking out opportunities to enhance/extend the success of individual products Working collaboratively with other Global Product colleagues to produce appropriate reporting for product boards and equivalent senior level committees, and potentially representing Global Product at these boards and committees, taking ownership for actions as required. Proactively keep up-to-date and informed about regulatory developments in the region, being alert for triggers for product changes, ensuring those changes are captured within the change portfolio and providing relevant expertise to colleagues in Global Product. Role Specific Skills and Knowledge A strong working knowledge and experience of managing or establishing investment product vehicles is essential for this role. A good working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment associated with relevant investment products.
