Due to an expansion in IAPT provision an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and motivated individual to join the Postgraduate Certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Interventions (PGCertLIPI) programme team. This training programme is run as a collaborative arrangement between Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Birmingham.
The post-holder will support the delivery of the PGCertLIPI and teach topics and clinical skills to support students. A key part of this role will be to plan, develop and structure systems that will support the learning needs of trainees working in isolation. To accomplish this, the post-holder will need to keep abreast of national policy and developments in the area of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) training and clinical practice. Due to the nature of the post there will be occasions when you will be expected to travel to deliver the programme or attend meetings.
The post holder will be a graduate from an accredited PWP training course and hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Therapies. In addition, they must have current clinical experience as a PWP and be experienced in delivering low intensity guided CBT self-help. The post-holder will be keen to develop their own practice, enjoy the challenge of helping students to learn, wish to gain experience of working in higher education training and be responsible for the management and co-ordination of their own work. You must be an excellent communicator and team worker and be confident in dealing with service consultants, postgraduate trainees, service leads and other mental health professionals, both in person and on the telephone. An ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise your work load will also be essential. Finally, an understanding of confidentiality is crucial in this role.
