Location of Role: Folkestone \n \n Advert Closing Date: 01/10/2020 \n \n Salary Range: £26,292.00 to £31,161.00 (pro-rata for part-time vacancies) \n \n Part/Full Time: Full Time \n \n Contract Type: Permanent \n \n Working Pattern: Mon-Fri \n \n Weekend/Evening Working: No \n \nThe Kent Analytical Team is looking for an experienced analyst to work within its performance work stream to support East Division. This role will be based at Folkstone Police Station and support the Division with Performance reporting.\n \nAbout you: \n You will have a passion for numbers and spreadsheets, and have the ability to make the complex simple. You will have a minimum of a math-based A level or equivalent with data or statistical experience, or have relevant experience in a similar role and would be advantageous if you had knowledge or experience in police crime recording or performance reporting. You will have outstanding communication skills to deliver presentations to a wide ranging audience, write reports and present data in an appropriate format. You will have advanced IT skills which will include excel and it would be advantageous if you had knowledge or experience in data mining software, SQL and/or SPSS You will be able to form professional relationships with key stakeholders who will include senior police officers, other analysts and partnership agencies You should be motivated, resilient, and organised with the ability to work independently whilst remaining part of a wider analytical community and prioritise your own workload. You have an eye for detail, are inquisitive and, above all, will need to ensure data accuracy and integrity. \n \nAbout the role:\n You will be based at Folkstone Police Station, but you will need to be able to travel to other police stations within the division. You will be required to undertake research and analysis of performance data and information providing high quality management information with appropriate recommendations to drive improvements in performance management and inform decision making for East Division. You will be completing Freedom of Information Act requests on behalf of Kent Police and adhere to other legislation such as Data Protection Act, Data Sharing protocols and Management of Police Information.
