We are seeking systems engineering and integration professionals with a Railway background, a desire and determination to continue to develop into business, project, technical or thought leaders in Systems Engineering and Integration. The successful candidate will join our growing and industry leading Systems Engineering, Integration and Assurance group. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate capability as a self-starter and be adept at applying systems thinking, to solve systems engineering problems primarily across major UK Rail projects. You will have proven experience of systems engineering and integration within the Railway domain and demonstrate experiece in task leadership. You will be at the stage of your career where you have achieved Chartered status and are looking for the right challenge and next step to develop personally and professionally. As a senior consultant within our team, you will be expected to take on roles with increasing responsibility and accountability for planning, estimating and executing tasks, potentially directing other resources from within our team. The successful candidate will be capable of, big picture thinking who we can help develop and who can help us evolve, continuously improve, and excel in delivering systems engineering and integration services to our current and future clients. You will do this through application and continuous development of our SI:D 3 framework. We are looking for candidates with the ability to be future leaders within our group across all aspects of systems engineering and integration activities, collaborating and promoting the adoption of systems engineering to existing and potential clients. We are after individuals who will embrace turning challenges into opportunities while applying standards beyond the norm. A typical week would include: Supporting project teams to solve complex integration problems for our clients on major infrastructure programmes Leading tasks within a project environment, leading other resources on larger projects, or having sole accountability for small projects As a professional in systems engineering and integration, you will demonstrate a willingness and openness to challenge and learn from our clients and your colleagues, with a commitment to mentoring Early Career Professionals Working in challenging and exciting projects environments, where you will need to help define those projects, adding value and reducing risk for our clients by applying pragmatic systems thinking and collaborative behaviours as part of a team on big systems engineering projects Supporting interval team development activities focused on business and / or technical development Gaining commercial responsibility of your project and awareness of the wider business while working in a consultancy environment Proactively seeking knowledge and learning opportunities from within our team or via external sources to develop capability to determine the right approach to a problem, considering the competing needs and constraints on capabilities, availabilities of resource, time and cost constraints Proactively maintaining an up-to-date CPD record whilst developing a professional network We'd love to hear from you if you have: A degree in a relevant engineering discipline Chartered status with a relevant professional body, or can demonstrate in a position to achieve Chartered status within the near future Post degree experience in delivering systems integration in a rail environment Experience in applying various systems engineering tools (e.g. DOORS) and techniques (e.g. MBSE) Experience in identifying and defining the appropriate approach to systems engineering on projects Experience in identifying and defining the appropriate application of systems engineering tools on projects Ideally experience in leading others in delivering systems engineering projects and/or tasks A background in in client facing roles, and/or experience in stakeholder engagement Experience across different lifecycle stages and/or a clear understanding of the Systems Engineering challenges across different stages Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills Innovative Ideas for development of systems engineering services What if we can?
