E-beam Lithography Process Engineer

Key Responsibilities

You will be the process engineer with specific responsibility for e-beam lithography and characterisation of grating processing.
  • Provide production process support with a view to minimising scrap and cycle time.
  • Maintain and improve the grating processes.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation of procedures.
  • Provide training to the operators in the wafer fab.
  • Analyse tool and process data for continuous improvement.
  • Support equipment cross-qualification to ensure continuity and improve capacity and cycle time.
  • Liaise with vendors on best practice, and procurement activities, defining purchase criteria and process qualification.
  • Work with various computer software packages including specialist or bespoke computer systems.
  • Ensure high levels of tool availability through use of effective process and tool control strategies.
  • Liaise with the Product and Test Engineering groups in respect of test results and device performance.
  • Assist the Equipment Engineering group with fault finding and recovery of process tools and to assist with developing tool support strategies
  • Meet individual and team targets and objectives.
  • Adhere to all site safety and environmental procedures.

  • Process development experience in E-beam lithography.
  • Experience of computer-controlled vacuum systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent PC user (including the use of Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work as a part of a team to achieve targets whilst using a variety of communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision whilst ensuring that all tasks are completed.
  • Wafer fab cleanroom experience.
  • Familiarity with 6sigma and similar methodologies would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) such as PROMIS would be an advantage, though full training will be provided.

  • A degree in a science or engineering discipline and directly related experience in E-beam lithography.

  • You will be working within a cleanroom environment and must be comfortable with the use of cleanroom clothing.
  • Self-motivated and dependable with good communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, alone or as a part of a team.
  • Excellent attendance, timekeeping and punctuality.
  • Must have a professional attitude to work and to colleagues.
  • A flexible approach to work and customer demand.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
