Mechanical Engineer – Test and Manufacturing

Based in Cambridge this is a fantastic new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to work in the fast growing and exciting field of DNA Synthesis. This growing start-up is looking to hire talented, innovative and ambitious people who are seeking to develop and commercialise a disruptive technology

The Mechanical Engineer will be focused on the development of test rigs and protocols and conducting tests to support product development and manufacturing activities, this could include: Design of testing fixtures; life testing; key research and de-risking activities; proof of manufactures data on key performances. Testing activities are likely to include Mechantronics, Mechanisms, Microfluidics and Thermal Management.

The successful candidate will have some commercial experience working within a similar role, along with experience in:
• Design and Development of Test Rigs along with execution of robust test protocols
• Producing Engineering designs and drawings for manufacture
• Knowledge of prototyping and low volume manufacturing methods
• 3D CAD (preferably Solidworks)
