As aEngineering Lecturer, this role will require an individual skilled to teach on advanced manufacturing programmes, in line with Apprenticeship standards and BAE systems learning delivery models capitalising on ideas and innovation to enhance teaching and learning practice
You will contribute to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum always promoting a positive, meaningful learning culture. This role will allow an individual to have a level of autonomy when planning and shaping the blended curriculum through digital and physical platforms.
The position will provide you with the opportunity to help shape the apprenticeship programme being based in the new £16m purpose built modern Academy for Skills and Knowledge as BAE Systems continue to invest record amounts into Early Careers with another 800 apprentices due to start this year.
Your main responsibilities as a Engineering Lecturer will involve:
Contributing to the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum always promoting a positive, meaningful learning culture
Preparing and marking assessments as required within the range of programmes providing informative, meaningful feedback and ensuring rapid progress of our Apprentices individual development
Imbedding the delivery of maths, English throughout the curriculum
Undertaking Apprentice performance reviews ensuring high quality target setting to continuously develop our Apprentices skills, knowledge and behaviours ensuring rapid progress is made
Producing full, considered and timely reports and data on Apprentice progress and further ensuring proactive data monitoring and analysis
Participating in Apprentice interviews, enrolment and induction, open days and enrichment activities
Fully participate in the development of an inclusive blended learning approach using CANVAS as a platform enriching the curriculum delivery
Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of specialist areas through CPD
Maintaining current and appropriate resources for all course units taught including Schemes of Work, Lesson Plans, and suitable teaching materials ensuring individualised learning opportunities are in place
Contributing to the high quality beginning to end learning experience
Participating in the quality assurance process aligned with awarding body requirements
Your skills and qualifications:
Experience in teaching L3 Manufacturing and HNC programmes
Trade experience in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering disciplines
Passionate and about apprentice skills training
Higher level teaching qualification e.g. Diploma in Education or PGCE
Minimum qualification of HNC in a trade background
Internal verification qualifications (IQA) or be willing to work towards
