Senior Electronics Engineer

DescriptionWorking for a world leader within the aircraft manufacturing industry based in St
Neots the Senior Electronics Engineer will provide technical direction and proactively lead a team of engineers to manage new and existing projects carrying out engineering activities in support of new and existing projects
The ideal candidate will have an Electronics/Electrical degree with extensive work experience and be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of power and control electronics.

Act as the project lead on a program-by-program basis by providing technical and logistical direction to a team of engineers.
Ensure that all activities associated to the project life cycle are carried out efficiently and effectively within agreed timelines
Be responsible for conceptual design, drawings, BOM's, prototyping, verification, qualification, commissioning, documentation, customer support and post development tasks
Generate detailed program plans ensuring that allocated resources and cost budgets are maintained and managed efficiently and within the agreed timelines.
Lead by example and ensure that engineering practices are carried out to the highest standards
Provide a high level of customer service and to act as a customer interface between our customers and internal departments
Mentor and manage the project team and individual engineers' activities
Promote and develop good working relationships within engineering and all internal and external customers.
Research and promote design improvements, cost reductions, new materials, components and design techniques.
Ensure Health and Safety policies are adhered to, that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained and 5s is promoted and adhered to.Qualifications & Experience required:
Bachelors/Masters in Electronics or similar is essential
Experience in a design/development role working on electronic hardware/modules for aerospace or a similar critical environment is essential
Must have a good knowledge of power and control electronics
Must be able to lead teams of multiple projects
A good understanding of electrical safety is a requirement
Knowledge and experience of DO-160 and DO-254 would be preferable
A good track record in the development and industrialisation of products for medium-volume production is desirable
Must be adaptable, have a professional outlook and initiative with excellent attention to detail
