Electrical Technician - Engineering Solutions
Description✓Our client is looking for an Electrical Technician [Engineering Solutions] for a permanent position, located in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.
✓Role
✓The primary role of the onshore Electrical Technician is to ensure the proper functioning, maintenance, and repair of Flex-lay assets' electrical systems
✓This involves working with a range of electrical equipment, control systems, and associated components used in the flex-lay operations of company equipment.
✓Part of a small team of Electricians and Mechanics based at the Peterhead yard, the Electrical Technician will also be involved in the build, strip down and function testing of Flex lay assets.
✓The Electrical Technician must ensure a proactive and continuous approach to safety, technical, industry and company standards as well as client site safety initiatives.
✓Responsibilities
✓Electrical System Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems and components on rental assets to identify potential issues, defects, or areas requiring maintenance.
✓Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Perform electrical troubleshooting to identify the root cause of malfunctions, failures, or performance issues
✓Utilize appropriate tools and techniques to diagnose electrical problems accurately.
✓Maintenance and Repair: Carry out maintenance and repair activities on electrical systems, including wiring, switches, circuit breakers, control panels, lighting systems, and other electrical components
✓Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards during all maintenance and repair tasks.
✓Equipment Calibration: Calibrate electrical equipment and instruments to maintain accurate readings and ensure proper functionality.
✓Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance measures to minimize the occurrence of electrical faults, failures, and breakdowns.
✓Develop and follow maintenance schedules for electrical systems and components.
✓Component Replacement: Replace faulty or damaged electrical components, such as fuses, relays, contactors, motors, and sensors, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
✓System Upgrades and Modifications: Perform electrical system upgrades or modifications based on equipment specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements
✓Collaborate with the asset manager or engineering team to ensure compliance and effective implementation.
✓Compliance and Safety Adherence: Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards during all maintenance and rectification activities
✓Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly.
✓Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections performed
✓Prepare detailed reports on electrical issues, repairs, and recommendations for improvement.
✓Requirements:
✓HNC [or equivalent] in Electrical or Electrical & Electronic Engineering [Preferred]
✓Modern Apprenticeship [or equivalent] in Electrical [Essential]
✓Able to demonstrate competence in reading and understanding electrical drawings [Essential]
✓Good level of secondary education [Essential]
✓Able to read and write simplified English [Mandatory]
✓Computer literate [Preferred]
✓Able to identify and use technical tools and instruments [Essential]
