Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Technician

DescriptionP+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently seeking an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Technician to join their team based in Eye on a full-time, permanent basis.
Role Responsibilities:
* Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the focus of the Technician will be to undertake routine and defect maintenance work to ensure the reliability, availability and output of the plant and equipment are achieved.
Key responsibilities
* Ensure that safe working practices and procedures are adhered to within all areas of work.
* Execute routine and non-routine maintenance activities in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
* Investigate plant problems and identify solutions.
* Prepare and present technical reports.
* Maintain work and activity records.
* Carry out continuous plant condition monitoring routines.
* Ensure effective planning is in place with adequate and competent resources available.
* Supervise other staff and contracted personnel as directed by your line manager.
* Support your line manager in the preparation of work.
* Communicate and encourage good working relationships within the team.
* Provide cover for the day-to-day management of the Maintenance Manager as required.
* Have the full understanding of cost implications and power generation with your areas of work.
* Adhere to the SHE Management System at all times.
Person Specification:
* The successful candidate will be a competent CMMS user with a high level of technical plant awareness.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, together with experience of site safety rules.
* Ideally you will have a ‘time served’ apprenticeship, with a minimum of 5 years power generation/utility experience and HNC or equivalent qualification.
* You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, IT skills and have an astute commercial awareness.
Working Schedule:
* This position has an On-Call requirement.
* You will be included in a four-week rotation call out rota to be first line cover for any breakdown on site, day or night, for a seven-day period.
