✓Job Description
✓A vacancy has arisen within the Operations Directorate for a Craft Technician Electrical
✓The purpose of the role is the delivery of maintenance
✓The job holder is responsible for supporting plant maintenance activities.
✓Key Responsibilities
✓* Identify and rectify routine maintenance problems where applicable
✓* Carry out planned maintenance activities and defect rectification efficiently, includes defect investigation of causes and proposal of solutions whilst maintaining a focus on programme and resources
✓* Reinstate the work area after completing the maintenance of plant, systems and components
✓* Utilise diagnostic techniques to identify faults in plants, systems and components
✓* Identify and report common equipment performance issues
✓* Identify obsolescence and end-of-life issues
✓* Assess the effectiveness of maintenance procedures and provide required amendments and changes
✓* Produce fit for purpose job reports describing accurately the work that has been carried out, recommendations, solutions, PMI amendment details, conditions assessments, etc
✓* Mentor apprenticeship development and may be an SVQ Assessor
✓* Liaise with suppliers/manufacturers on technical issues
✓* Conduct safe and effective handover of plant and equipment to others and accept and confirm responsibility for the control of the plant and equipment within the work area isolation boundary
✓* Identify areas/opportunities for improvement in processes, working practice, equipment utilisation, etc., offering solutions where appropriate
✓* Perform the responsibilities of management appointments relevant to the post
✓* Hold a relevant disciplined nominated appointment
✓Essential Experience
✓* Strong organisational and planning skills
✓* Knowledge and understanding of work control process and safe systems of work
✓* Experience of safety awareness
✓* Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
✓* Electrical apprenticeship plus HNC in Engineering OR equivalent qualifications plus experience
✓* Have experience and skills in electrical maintenance
✓Please Note
✓* Security Clearance: BPSS but needs to be eligible for SC – Successful candidate will be required to renew DBS
✓* Health and Safety requirements or hazards associated to this role? – No
✓* TRIPLE BAR - Please note, client will issue the link to complete Triple Bar, with guidance and a code to cover the cost directly to the candidate.
✓* £75 Travel & Subsistence can be claimed per day by any ASWs travelling outside commuting distance to the site
✓* Drugs &Alcohol testing & DBS check - Please note, the candidate MUST cover the cost for any Drugs &Alcohol testing, as well as a DBS check prior to starting onsite
✓The candidate will not be reimbursed for these fees, without these completed, the candidate will not be granted site access and their start date will have to be moved.
