This LSA role in a specialist SEMH school for boys aged 9-16 that have excluded from their mainstream education. There will be a plethora of reasons why each boy is in the school, they will have suffered different traumas and all different contexts. It's a case of forming relationships with the boys, over time. You may help plant ideas that you will not see the full, positive effects or end results from, know that they are there and will happen - the point is you won't always get the ego boost of seeing your good work and results right in front of you.
Sincerity is vital in this Learning Support Assistant - SEN - Dorking, you must know why you want to work with the boys. If you have had previous personal, family experience or support work experience as a graduate, this will give you a solid foundation. Your Sincerity is the absolute key In such a role.
Many of the students will be incredibly charismatic, your days will fly by quickly and you will not know where the day has gone. At the same token, in an environment where a lot of the student's Mental Health is incredibly vulnerable, you will have to be very patience and focus on the student's skills for life.

***Specialist SEMH school, all male students. 9-16, based in Dorking
***£80 per day, LSA role is for the academic year to July 2021, 8.15 to 16.15, immediate start
***Some of the students you will be working with will be in the early stages of rehabilitation and understanding their behaviour
***Working 1:1 with at least pupils with varying degrees of SEN from Mild Learning Difficulties to Severe Autism.
