We are an Acute and Community Trust based between the Pennines and Manchester City Centre. We employ almost 4,000 staff across Tameside & Glossop. We are looking to recruit one full time (10 + 2 PAs) Specialty Doctor to join our comprehensive Cardiology service at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Organisation. The post will enable the successful applicant to gain valuable experience in a number of clinical areas including:

  • Acute cardiology inpatient work
  • Exposure to a range of Cardiology diagnostics including Echocardiography, Dobutamine Stress Echos and Angiography
  • Exposure to pacemaker implantation and cardioversion
  • Participation in the middle grade on-call rota

The successful candidate will work on the middle grade rota with a 1:13 shift-working pattern. This commitment could change as more doctors participate in the rota

The Cardiology department has an outstanding record in supporting specialty doctors to further develop their careers. We are keen to support our specialty doctors in reaching their desired career goals and opportunities will be given to enable progression to consultant level via the CESR route. We are able to offer a bespoke package of support in order to meet the specific training requirements of individual clinicians. As a department, we want to progress the careers of all of our specialty doctors by developing their clinical, medical, educational and managerial skills.

This post represents an exciting opportunity to join one of the pioneering integrated care organisations in the country which is transforming the way care is delivered to improve the health of the population it serves. Not only does this post post provide exposure to a variety of clinical settings but also the opportunity to be at the core of transforming our services to provide a truly integrated model of health care to our population.

This role presents an ideal opportunity for a CMT coming to the end of their core medical training awaiting a place on a specialist programme.
