We're a growing digital service delivery company and consultancy looking for a highly-skilled and senior DevOps engineer to join our team. We work with a wide range of clients in the public and private sector, ranging from large organisations to small startups. Your initial engagement will be working remotely with a Government client in Central London. You will be part of a major transformation programme that will impact people across the country in many positive ways. Are you an excellent DevOps Engineer? Technical Skills and Experience you will need to have: Extensive experience of availability and capacity management of services Extensive experience in information security and meeting various audit requirements including GDPR Significant experience working in modern open technology stacks. Diverse experience in creating quick prototypes to prove concepts Varied experience integrating systems at various levels (eg Legacy, COTS, 3rd party, internal etc) Significant experience in configuration as code tool, especially Ansible Extensive experience utilising Docker and Terraform for build robust digital services Varied experience in defining, designing and running CI Pipeline using tools like Jenkins and travis. Experience in defining automation that can be deployed on multiple platforms preventing vendor lock-in Experience in using gitlab and github, including automation tooling and artefact storage. Experience in automating deployment of both C# and Java applications and supporting the teams developing them. Varied experience with multiple database engines including SQLServer, Postgres etc Experience managing configuration and secrets Experience in defining and supporting a release management process Experience providing Support services Experience implementing automation based on predefined architecture eg microservices, CQRS Experience in centrally managing logging and providing insights to teams based on log trents Experience in building a service that meets audit requirements Experience of testing modern DevOps Implementations Experience of applying common design principles and patterns such as microservice architecture Experience of working in a collaborative team environment Experience of troubleshooting infrastructure/ops issues alone and with teams Outstanding communication skills with the ability to express issues to other technical and non-technical people. It will be Advantageous if you have: Extensive experience in Kubernetes would help define service enhancement Worked on a project assessed by the Government Digital Service (GDS). Worked collaboratively and effectively in DevOps environments. Exposure to multiple programming languages and data storage technologies (eg SQL/NOSQL). Other Skills you should have: Experience of working in an agile way including Three Amigos/Power of Three/Story Kick-offs and all of the usual agile ceremonies.
