Function Diageo’s Analytics & Insights team is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing analytics products to drive our competitive advantage and enable empirically based decisions. About the Role You will serve as an evangelist for the power of data and develop analytics products to enable decisions at Diageo. You will become an invaluable partner to your stakeholders, help catalyse their thinking about what is possible, identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicate insights and findings from analysis and experiments to drive top line growth, personalised consumer experiences and optimises business processes. Purpose of the role: Enable Diageo to achieve our analytics ambition by visualising data into actionable insights to drive better decision making in this high profile and strategically important area of the business.  Top Accountabilities Develop and implement robust data visualization and dashboarding solutions to enable timely business decisions, drive performance, and lead to the accomplishment of quarterly and annual goals  Develop visualizations that are aesthetically elegant and on-brand, demonstrate visual and analytical integrity, have an appropriate data-to-ink-ratio, follow design best practices, and are designed for optimal User Experience Coordinate and lead the delivery of large data visualization projects with multiple developers for multiple business stakeholders on firm deadlines; ensure timely product delivery and lead engagement and adoption of developed products; oversee the deployment of features, epics and stories for visual analysis Utilize expertise to collaborate with key partners to understand, capture, and shape requirements for reports and interactive dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making Work collaboratively with the business and engineering teams to identify strategic solutions, iterate on design and implementation, and deliver data products that measurably enhance Diageo’s business Meet with customers to identify and document personas and use cases that drive the development of visual data products with User Experience at the core Prioritize deliverables across multiple projects to ensure the Diageo realizes the highest business value; communicate priorities and changes promptly to all stakeholders Perform data analysis to ensure on-going data integrity, quality, and operational efficiency Synthesize and package complex analyses, making them understandable across technical and non-technical audiences; communicate systems/analytics changes to the business, translating complex functionality into the business relevant language Identify and promote efficiencies in visualization development and delivery Develop for multiple platforms, including web and mobile Manage the lifecycle of data visualization products including providing training, measuring adoption, and establishing metrics to monitor adoption and business value Maintain master data reference for all KPIs, data elements, and dashboard logic for products developed; partner with the visualization development team to maintain a comprehensive and synonymous data dictionary Manage contract resources on projects, overseeing all aspects of their design, development, and deployment to ensure alignment with Diageo's goals and business needs Mentor and develop other analytics professionals in utilizing best practices, enhancing visualization and technical expertise, and translating business needs into measurable outcomes Evaluate the team’s discipline and demonstrate leadership in promoting and implementing visualization and analytics best practices Work independently and take the initiative to identify, explore, troubleshoot, and solve problems Accelerate new and evolving solutions in data visualization technologies Promote the practice of user-centered design Leadership Accountabilities You will be a great business partner to the senior level internal stakeholders (e.g. functional directors) as well as peers within A&I through building great relationships, supporting and challenging with skill & holding leaders to account for full delivery. Qualification: Bachelor's degree in statistics, business, economics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, research, or a related field. Experience required/Skills/capabilities/Languages 5-6 years of experience in user experience, developing dashboards, data visualizations, and self-service data tools 1-2 years of experience managing delivery of large-scale visualization projects Strong experience in leveraging data visualization and dashboarding techniques to make complex data more accessible, understandable, and usable to drive business decisions and outcomes Rich experience in translating business needs into measurable results Expertise in creating user-centered designs that support measurable data-driven decision making Demonstrate a well-defined practice that is built on the principles of the visual display of information An expert with Tableau and SQL, hands-on, gripped with using data to drive business decisions and passionate about building compelling and engaging visualizations Skilled in dashboard development with connecting Tableau to cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS Experience with data extraction and analysis technologies such as Power BI, SAS, QlikView, or similar tools Experience developing visualizations for web and mobile devices Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets, including CSV, TXT, JSON, and XML Strong SQL skills, experience working with large datasets, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, data modelling recommendations for report views Experienced in developing, testing and implementing, and maintaining intuitive dashboards and self-service tools Expert in defining and maintaining data assets, identifying and documenting KDEs, KPIs, aligning dimensions, and the translation of business goals into quantitative metrics and reporting A flexible, dynamic personality who works well partnering/collaborating in a matrixed team environment Strong collaboration and influencing skills Expert at sifting through large volumes of data, identifying critical information, analyzing, developing hypotheses and making recommendations Strong presentation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently requiring minimal direction, execute large projects following established guidelines/ procedures and take the initiative to explore and solve problems Strong process orientation and project management skills to manage multiple project streams and ensure the team stays aligned and on target Demonstrated experience working with large data sets, data models, and statistical analysis Demonstrated understanding of critical topics in marketing science, data science, and applied analytics as well as emerging trends in market research, consumer insights, e-commerce, digital marketing, and mobile app development  Great advantages: Master’s degree (M.A., M.S. or MBA) in analytics, information technology, computer science, economics, statistics, engineering, research or a related field 7+ years of experience in user experience, developing dashboards, data visualizations, and self-service data tools 3+ years of experience successfully delivering large-scale visualization projects Experience delivering insights on global sales, supply chain, and operations Tableau Certified Professional Expertise in Tableau dashboarding using AWS datasets:  S3 buckets, Snowflake, RedShift, Athena, or similar Visualization skills in JavaScript, D3, Bokeh, or similar Experience developing visualizations with web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, D3, or similar) Coding skills
