Function:Field Operations Closing Date:24/09/2020We're on the lookout for a Delivery Support Engineer to join our Network Expansion team in Bristol, on a 6 month fixed term contract. You'll provide support to our contract partners within the civils and cabling division, ensuring that the team deliver Business Services to our customers in an effective and efficient manner. As part of a multi-skilled team you will be providing technical solutions on both the optical network and civils infrastructure where additional attention is needed on delivery of services that are technically problematic. You'll be working with stakeholders on jeopardy management and co-ordinating key tasks to provide solutions to jobs with special engineering difficulties, whilst ensuring company Health and Safety, along with all current legislation on NRSWA is observed and followed. You'll be working alongside and under the supervision of the Principle Support Delivery engineers to complete all activities in line with the standards required, but will also be working solo in various areas. Job Responsibilities: Provide a pro-active engineering support function to delivery of business circuits, supporting all engineering tasks throughout the customer journey to point of install. Predominantly supporting planning colleagues within (but not limited to) the planning activities to increase the opportunity early of identifying delivery issues with a view to having a positive impact on time to deliver Manage and support with focus out of hours activity undertaken by our partners. This will give instant ability to support the need from deviation of original plan during first cabling or civils visit Support and provide solution of referrals from partner back into planning Provide optical network audits and potential over-build data for areas where optical capacity is challenging Physically verify optical routing where required to support accuracy of the production of straight line diagrams Cease circuits where packs are provided by planning and feedback as-built information Check all blockages identified by partner within 48 hrs of submission and amend submitted civils / blockage referral forms as appropriate Aiding project delivery by providing test results, connection and repair to the optical network on an ad-hoc basis as agreed by each project Support out of hours access requirements for project / BAU delivery for other licensed operators and customers Perform network changes to support optical consolidation requirements across the network Provide proactive feedback of duct and optical capacity challenges to keep planning informed of potential "bottle necks" where future delivery may see demand. Support the delivery of MSAN optical distribution maintaining hydra cable distribution Provide support to escalations identified by the DRO and Service Delivery Ensure work carried out on Business Customer Premises are to best practice and with quality, ensuring VM Health and Safety are followed at all times for post and onsite work Focus on contributing to Schedule of Works date and Time to Deliver Skillset Required: We'll be looking for candidates who are organised and know how to keep time, not to mention fully focused on customer delivery. It's key that you can demonstrate working examples of where you've exceeded standards, focused on delivery of targets, quality and deadlines. We're keen to hear of your experiences operating in a customer centric environment with possession of excellent people skills including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution. You'll need to be a team player, but also show confidence in working solo in an ever changing environment - no two days are the same! You'll find yourself out on the road for 80% of your week, so we'll need you to hold a clean and valid driving license to ensure you can visit each site on a daily basis.
