FIG People are looking for a bright, enthusiastic Debt Collections Advisor to effectively manage customer accounts that have fallen into early arrears and maintain all other accounts with a high level of customer service in line with the finance industry regulatory framework.

Debt Collections Advisor - Role and Responsibilities

As a Debt Collections Advisor, you will work within a large team of agents you will report into your team leader and department manager. Your duties include:

Build relationships with customers in arrears to understand them and their current financial situation

Communicate with customers via email/telephone, providing information which transparent, fair and not misleading

Work in accordance with financial regulations

Update client records accordingly

Keep up to date with relevant training and policies

Additional tasks as and when required

Report queries and complaints raised by customers when required

Identify trends and gaps in policies, procedures, strategies and systems

Debt Collections Advisor - Skills & Experience

Must have at least six months previous experience of working in a collections environment ideally direct to consumer.

Can demonstrate high-level skills in verbal and written communication along with an ability to adapt these with sensitivity for customer needs

A professional telephone manner with a mindset and orientation of customer service and care

Be a co-operative, positive and 'can-do' contributor to a team

Able to manage workload effectively

Works with strong attention to detail with a working understanding of GDPR

Ability to demonstrate strong numeracy and literacy skills
