Quality Engineer

Job Category: Electronics Job Location: Dundee, City of Dundee, United Kingdom Quality Engineer Our client is a global organisation supplying to the defence, aviation, space, medical & transportation industries, providing high-speed, secure connectivity solutions. For their Dundee facility we have an immediate requirement for a skilled & experienced Quality Engineer. You will work closely with the Senior Quality Manager of this high technology manufacturing organisation where the ideal candidate will be involved in providing support to internal & external customers. Duties & Responsibilities: Maximise the quality of manufacturing areas and products: Quality standards to be supplied for production documentation for all allocated products. All product documentation to be reviewed and authorised to verify that the documents will ensure a product which meets internal and customer quality requirements. The distribution of all manufacturing instructions and process specifications to comply with company procedures. Support improvement programs aimed at improving product efficiency and reliability. Contribute to the investigation and root cause resolution of production issues. Ensure the integrity of product designs: Product designs to be effectively reviewed for compliance to customer requirements. Take responsibility for understanding product qualification needs and ensuring programs are completed in a timely manner. Perform Liaison with Subcontractors and Suppliers on Quality Issues: Accurately and professionally represent the organisation when dealing with subcontractors and suppliers. Subcontractor quality to be monitored effectively, quality problems highlighted efficiently and corrective actions monitored. Manage customer site inspections: Support and contribute to customer site inspections Carry out investigations into customer returned product: Customer returns investigations to be controlled and analysed effectively. Generated correction actions to be followed up to ensure implementation and effectiveness. Customer returns to be investigated within agreed timescales. Carry out internal audits as part of the internal audit schedule with timely writing of reports and close out of audits. Participate, as requested, in the implementation and maintenance of Environmental Management System and Quality Systems: Carry out, as required, tasks relating to the Company's Environmental Management System and Quality System in a timely, efficient and professional manner. Experience: Experienced in a similar position, ideally within an electronics environment. Excellent communication skills - oral and written Structured, methodical approach to activities / projects Excellent data creation and analysis capabilities Good working knowledge of standard software packages (Excel etc) Capable of working on own initiative Determination and drive to see projects through to completion Eye for detail Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Quality or a Technical Discipline (i.e. IE, EE, ME, QE). Master Degree in relevant discipline is preferred. Additional certification such as BB/MBB, CQE, CQM, and / or ISO Lead Auditor is highly desirable. This is a permanent position. Working days only, 39.5 hours Mon-Thurs 8 - 5; Friday 8 - 1.30. Salary to £40,000
