Housing Officer

A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a Housing Officer to join an established West Kent based Housing client for an initial period of 4 weeks before moving onto a permanent / FTC contract. This is a full time and remote working role.

You will be dealing with all neighbourhood related issues for over properties based in West Kent. As part of this, you will be providing an excellent generic front-line tenancy management service to customers, managing low level ASB and dealing with a range of tenancy and estate issues that improve neighbourhoods and focuses on achieving high-levels of customer satisfaction.

Your key duties will include:
*Managing a patch of over 300 properties with a variety of tenures and across a broad geographical area.
*Tenancy and estate management of a patch of properties including the day to day management of a defined number of properties.
*Undertaking home visits and interviews to advise and resolve housing management issues, including tenancy issues or breaches of tenancy.
*Managing and monitoring low level anti-social behaviour cases in line with procedures and providing customer focused solutions.
*Actively managing customer rent accounts to ensure income is received on time. Initiate actions to address arrears including legal proceedings as required to maximise income for the organisation.
*Conducting monthly estate inspections reporting and raising communal repairs to mitigate potential health and safety risks to customers, complying with statutory legislation and protecting the organisation from litigation.
*Reporting and raising responsive and planned repairs to homes as required.
*Undertaking tenancy audits in accordance with policy and procedure to a minimum of 20% of the patch total each year to ensure that our tenancy records hold up to date information on household members and contact details, including e-mail addresses.
*Working with the Community Safety Team to Investigate any possible tenancy fraud or subletting identified as a result of completing the tenancy audit.
*Producing reports and maintain up to date, clear records and statistics in relation to all duties including computer records.
*Attending evening meetings and be flexible to work outside core working time.
*Identifying and investigating cases of tenancy fraud, liaising with partner agencies including benefit departments to support cases that necessitate legal actions.
*Ensuring diligent record keeping and administration across all areas of tenancy management. This includes the preparation of comprehensive casework required to support tenancy enforcement issues as required.

As the client is keen for the candidate to hit the ground running previous experience of carrying out a similar role within housing association or public sector client would be beneficial.
