Do you have a passion for working with individuals experiencing an acute mental health crisis? Are you looking to enhance your skills of assessment and treatment of of people with mental health problems who need intensive mental health support in their home environment? If so, then you will be excited to hear that an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Crisis assessment and home treatment team in West Cumbria! We are looking for a highly motivated, compassionate and hard-working senior mental health practitioner to complement our skilled workforce of mental health nurses, social workers, consultant psychiatrist and STR workers. Surrounded by the stunning views of the West Cumbrian coast, you will work as a member of the team providing a high standard of intervention in line with service objectives and care standards. You will provide assessment, care planning/management, treatment and support to service users and carers of those with severe mental health problems. You will be focused on preventing hospital admission and will ensure the smooth transition for service users between specialist and mainstream services and other teams. You will implement relevant mental health and community care legislation and be expected to participate in regular supervision. The post holder will develop their skills through work- based practice, supervision, mentoring, PDP and appraisal and utilising training opportunities. Your work base will be The Newlands Unit, West Cumberland Hospital, but your working day will mostly consist of supporting individuals in the community at their home address. We are a 24 hour, 7 day service and you will be expected to work shifts to meet the demand of the service. We currently offer long shifts to allow for a better work life balance for our staff members. You will have access to our lease cars to conduct your visits (to save on your own petrol bills) and be provided with your own work laptop with 4G coverage.
