Transformation Delivery Manager

Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Transformation Delivery Manager to work within NWAS’ Urgent & Emergency Care (UEC) Transformation Team. Reporting to the UEC Transformation Portfolio Manager, the post holder will be responsible for successfully delivering key elements of the Integrated Response Model (IRM) programme, a key programme within the NWAS Urgent and Emergency Care strategy implementation portfolio.

The UEC Transformation team has been established as a substantive team under the portfolio of the Deputy Chief Executive, informed by the improvements made throughout NWAS’ successful two year Transforming Patient Care Programme which ended in June 2019.

The primary function of the UEC Transformation team is to lead the delivery of NWAS’ Urgent and Emergency Care (U&EC) strategy implementation plan and portfolio. This will enable the organisation to realise its strategic ambitions to become the gateway to urgent and emergency care services across the North West and improve integration both internally across NWAS service lines (111, 999 and PTS) as well as with external partners and providers.

The role of the Transformation Delivery Manager is to support the design, development and implementation of transformational change initiatives with a particular focus on integration and interoperability. Therefore a proven ability to facilitate and deliver technical integration projects across a system is key within this post.

If successful, you will be expected to utilise and apply a range of service redesign and change management techniques alongside effective programme management skills and techniques in order to deliver the objectives within the UEC Transformation implementation plan. You will also be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of a suite of assurance documentation, including risk registers, project plans and programme dashboards.

You will lead and supervise Transformation team members, taking work streams from conception to closure in a structured manner. Stakeholder engagement at all levels, both within the Trust and externally, will be essential and will include timely and meaningful reporting of programme and project activities.

You will develop close and effective working relationships with work stream leads and wider NWAS colleagues so excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with your colleagues are essential personal attributes. You will instil this same ethos in your team, providing visible and accessible leadership to them, as well as being a point of escalation when issues are identified to you.

Detailed knowledge of the national and local urgent and emergency care agenda, emerging delivery systems and commissioning arrangements will also be essential.

You will be of post-graduate calibre (or have equivalent project management and delivery experience) with a sound understanding of project management methodology, with PRINCE2 or MSP knowledge and strong Microsoft Office skills and evidence of Continuous Professional Development.

The post holder will be based at Whitefield Station, Greater Manchester but will be expected to work in a flexible manner across the whole NWAS footprint including NWAS’ Trust headquarters based at Ladybridge Hall in Bolton. Regular travel in your own vehicle will be required (subject to Agenda for Change terms & conditions) whilst a reduction in unnecessary journeys via the use of technology will be actively encouraged.
