Social Media General Manager

As the Social Media General Manager, you will oversee the operation of Harrods’ social presence across all platforms, acting as the ambassador and champion for social media within the business. You’ll help deliver strategic projects and campaigns that contribute to position Harrods as the first choice luxury retailer for innovation and partnerships. About you This is a role with real influence that will shape the evolving global social media strategy. You will understand how to build a nuanced organic social strategy that caters to multiple audiences, and will work closely with the Performance Marketing team on paid social campaigns and growth strategies. Experience concepting creative campaigns for paid formats would be of benefit. The role will also be vital in developing new social media opportunities for brand partners, as Harrods grows its digital media sales business. You will need to understand and advise on best practice creatives and trends; steering a content plan that is both creative and commercially strategic, while also being relevant for each platform. You will be responsible for briefing multiple internal creative teams on specific asset requirements according to their channel plan, as well as managing a core team and our in-market China social agency. More specifically, we’re looking for someone with: Experience in social shopping formats and social strategies optimised for commercial ROI preferred Established contacts with the major platforms and innovative digital content agencies Self-motivation, a flexible approach and strong use of judgement and initiative Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability and willingness to prioritise projects while meeting deadlines Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders Detail orientated with thorough understanding of analytics and how this can be used to track and enhance performance Experience with and understanding of popular social/web communities (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube, TikTok, WeChat, Weibo) and emerging networks both globally and regionally Our promise to you At Harrods, we pride ourselves on challenging conventional thinking and doing the seemingly impossible for customers.
