As a Manager within the Non-Life Actuarial team in London, you will be in the driving seat to help support our clients to make significant changes to their business to navigate this market. You'd be an important part of our diversely talented, highly experienced team and work with large Global and Europe client. Our team of around 80 people sits at the heart of our Insurance Advisory team in London.

We are looking to strengthen our team at the Manager level and you would be an integral part of the team building out and delivering on our growth strategy
Your Key Responsibilities :
As a Manager within the Actuarial team, you will spend your day:
Managing to completion the technical delivery and reporting for projects, as well as providing insight to projects in terms of technical content;
Assisting in the dialogue with client project sponsors and fully manage expectations of delivery, content, timescales and cost;
A ssisting in responding to client proposals including clarification of need and participation in written and oral presentations.
Developing people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff

Communication - client management to assist with the dialogue with client project sponsors;
Client service - Manages clients’ expectations in relation to deliverables;
Risk averse - Identifies risk on the assignment, involving Senior Manager / Director / Partner appropriately in its resolution;
Energy - Dedication combined with a desire to fit in well, yet make your presence felt within our collegiate team;
Development of ideas - Play your part in the development of intellectual property to support sales-oriented client interaction;
Technical and Industry Expertise – Have a deep understanding of two of the following: Reserving for different classes of business, Reinsurance pricing, Risk Management, Pricing of Personal Lines or Specialty Market business, Capital model building or Capital model validation.
People - Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff.
To qualify for the role you must:
Be a Qualified actuary with degree-level qualification
S uccessful track record in General Insurance , gained through working for a Provider directly or a top tier consultancy or a specialist financial services consultancy
Have experience of at least two of the following:
Property and casualty classes of business with experience of the London and Bermuda market
Reserving process improvement and development work
Development or review of Solvency II technical provisions and associated processes
Reserve risk assessment using bootstrapping techniques
Building and developing capital models or capital modelling techniques
Deep experience in at least two of the commonly modelled risk types
The review of Solvency II internal models and associated processes
Knowledge of machine learning techniques
Be a problem solver; tailoring what you have learnt from your experiences to date to different client problems to help design and implement the solution.
Have a track record of managing projects, reserving activity and team members.
Be able to deal with outward-facing client management on projects
Be commercially savvy and able to collaboratively engage in discussions on future market trends and what this may mean for our clients.
Ideally you’ll also have
Experience in applying analytical techniques to a range of data to solve problems.
Visualisation packages including Tableau, Qlikview and Spotfire
Understand the links between reserve assessment, pricing, claims and underwriting
