A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a General Manager to join our team at Avonmouth, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. Viridor Polymer Recycling produces high quality recycled plastics in pellet and flake every year, which are produced to tight specifications. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do, and we work closely with manufacturers, brand owners and retailers to develop materials that are fit for recycling. Reporting to the Managing Director for Polymers & VRM, you will be expected to competently manage all operational and administrative activities at the polymers manufacturing facility (PRF) and ensure that they are carried out in a safe, professional, efficient and timely manner in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures. An important aspect of this role involves maximising recycling and recovery rates along with productivity and proficiency, whilst meeting quality targets. This will necessitate the need to develop appropriate KPI's to benchmark, measure, monitor and improve site performance. As a direct line manager of the site management team and with overall responsibility for all employees on site, you will need to be a strong leader and role model, emulating the high standard of output and compliance to health and safety expected throughout the site. Our ideal General Manager will have: Good knowledge of relevant legislation that relates to the operation of PRF's or similar waste reprocessing facilities. Good knowledge of materials processing and treatment operations and systems particularly in relation to polymers. Experience of managing large or multiple processing facilities. Experience of client, customer and regulatory liaison. Relevant COTCs (4TMNH) and (4COMP), or to study to achieve correct certificates. The ability to work under pressure to tight timescales.
