Interim Finance Manager (FTC)


Robert Half are delighted to be partnering with a leading medical research company based in Stevenage in their search for an Interim Finance Manager (FTC) for 12 months. The company are a market leader in their field and provide cutting edge technology + innovation for their collaborators.

The role:

The purpose of the role is to manage and take ownership for the accounting, financial controls, reporting and business partnering of the manufacturing centre. This role must ensure that all manufacturing centre costs can be appropriately tracked, reported and controlled and that collaborator invoices are accurate and can be supported with documentation. This role is a business partner of the cost centre managers, manufacturing centre directors, and executive team alongside project managers, and will provide commercial decision support as required.
  • Ensure controls are in place for all manufacturing centre transactions, accounting and reporting
  • Review of manufacturing centre balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage processes to efficiently track and report on the various elements of the manufacturing centre cost base
  • Review and approval of customer invoices and related revenue recognition
  • Support manufacturing centre audit requirements in line with the collaboration agreements
  • Budgeting and forecasting for the manufacturing centre projects and cost centres
  • Responsible for day to day management and development of a high performing finance team
  • Review, discuss, and participate in the approval of pricing proposals to enable all costs to be shared fairly amongst the collaborators
  • Assist with the implementation of a new management accounts reporting system, or other projects as required

About You: Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA)
  • Experience of cost accounting, allocations and reporting
  • Strong process and control management experience
  • Experience of managing a small team
  • Pricing, projects and commercial business partnering experience
  • Month end and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Excellent systems and analytics knowledge and experience
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and build rapport and trust
  • Ability to challenge business partners effectively and constructively
  • Ability to deal with change by understanding the impacts and amending own approach, systems, processes, and reporting appropriately
  • Understanding of what is required to maintain a well-controlled financial control environment
