We are seeking an exceptional finance professional to take on the Head of Finance role within our small and dynamic finance team.

The purpose of the role is to optimise the financial performance of the Hawk-Eye & Pulselive businesses, which comprise Sony Sport Innovations

Requirements

Primary responsibilities include:

Leadership

  • Partnering closely with the senior leaders in the Hawk-Eye & Pulselive business and building credibility to maintain cross functional influence
  • Building trusted relationships with stakeholders across the wider Sony business
  • Providing financial and business control leadership to the business and the finance team, including supporting and working closely with the SGFA team
  • Providing confident, accurate and well thought through financial insights for business decision making
  • Being a catalyst for driving business transformation

Controls & Governance

  • Identifying, quantifying and mitigating risk across the businesses
  • Understand and interpret financial risks of the business activities, and reporting effectively to support effective decision making
  • Effectively managing the Hawk-Eye assets, and maximising return
  • Be the interface with GTO; understanding tax risk and compliance across the complex Hawk-Eye & Pulselive infrastructure
  • Work closely with SSI FC in consolidation of information and accurate reporting

Operations

  • Provide accurate and insightful financial analysis to the business to support decision making and enhance profit improvement
  • Translate detailed information into clear, concise and well-informed messaging
  • Work alongside and challenge the operational teams to ensure decisions are made with the relevant financial data and risk understanding
  • Provide quality analysis and financial modelling for all business / project proposals, as well as renewals and new contracts to facilitate commercial decisions which lead to result optimisation (revenue, profit, cash flow and inventory)
  • Track the financial performance of the projects and contracts against the expected business case and forecast providing variance analysis focussing on the business drivers and recommendation in mitigation actions
  • Provide full analysis of profitability for all existing products and services, as well as new
  • Provide a suite of reports to the business which are accurate, timely and give the right information for business decision making
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, including utilising appropriate tools and timelines. Work with the P&L owners to ensure understanding and correct input of data
  • Manage cash flow forecast and working capital requirements
  • Work with SGFA team in completing month-end closing activities timely
  • Resolve financial related matters by collaborating with SEU platforms (SGFA, SGTS, SGTO) and SIPS
  • Proactively communicate with the Head of PSE F&O on business-critical issues
  • Work with other stakeholders to meeting their needs and expectations
  • Support, evaluate, and provide insights and options at the highest level, ensure the business strategy can be funded
  • Understand market trends and provide the right level of analysis of strategic product developments
  • Confidently challenge strategic decision making, with the support of accurate data and the right level of analysis and interpretation
  • Continual analysis of operating models set against the business strategy and goals

What we need from you »

Qualifications and Experience

  • University Degree or equivalent in Finance or Economics or Business Administration
  • Professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in Controllership (5 years minimum)
  • Experience in commercial reporting & analysis
  • Experience and / or understanding of Sports industry and technology
  • Experience of working across a global business within multi-cultural working environment
  • English language (written and spoken)
