Working for one of the largest passenger transportation companies in the UK, this role offers:

The role of Stakeholder Manager

The purpose of the role is to be able to represent the Company at Stakeholder meetings and to develop strong relationships with external stakeholders in order to deliver the Company’s business plan and to build the brand’s reputation.

Working closely with the Head of Public Affairs you will deliver on Public Affairs and communication objectives based on the requirements of the business. The successful candidate will implement strategies to deliver these objectives and powerful communication messages to stakeholders.

The role will entail a lot of in depth business knowledge so the ability to pick up information and provide correct information to Stakeholders is of paramount importance. This means that travel across the network will be necessary.

You will also work with the team at Head Office to attend meetings with the PR team and to ensure the delivery of the business plans.

In order to carry out this role, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following:

A Seasoned Public Affairs professional with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Corporate Affairs or Public Affairs
Evidence of developing and implementing strategies and campaigns to achieve lobbying and communications objectives
A long term builder of strategic business relationships
Excellent communication skills including being a good oral speaker and able to write engaging briefings, articles and speeches
A very good understanding of the parliamentary and political process and knowledge of wider strategies and the role in which both parliament and the media play in delivering public affairs priorities
Good Political acumen and sensitivity, an understanding of the factors that motive and influence politicians, political parties and corporate players within the railway industry.
An understanding of transport policy and the media
Excellent leadership skills
